At Home . . .

‘From its inception in Westlock, Coach Nicol returns to the area every year since moving away.  It’s his way of remembering where it all started and honoring the communities of Barrhead, Westlock, and all the outlying villages where his real coaching began.  For many years, Lorna Heimstra waved the banner for Hoopnics creating successful camps in Pembina Hills Country.

Creston, BC is the home of Coach’s nephews and he has made special attempts to bring his skills and expertise to the valley schools.

Coach Nicol makes the experience real for players of all ages and all levels and they are always returning for more!

Trinidad, Tobago and Dominica . . .

Sandy beaches, warm tropical seas, sunshine,(sunscreen and sunburn). The Nicols returned to the 'islands'. Most of our time was spent on Tobago with the basketball community and various government sponsored programs.  Trinidad was a for the U West Indies team clinic and family time.   A week in Dominica  was spearheaded by Taj Johnson (Gr Pr After 5 Rotary Club) and co-sponsored by Jerry  Williams  (Atlantique Hotel) and the Ministry of Sport.   Thanks to Vince, Carolyn, Papers, Atiba (and others) and some awesome kids.

Scotland . . .

'Coach' and Aum spent close to 4 months in Scotland, the land of his forefathers, while on sabbatical.  Awe inspiring scenery, wonderful new friends all while immersed in the culture and history. We were truly blessed.
